Living in Burford

A local guide from someone who has called Burford home for 16 years: the village, the country around it, and what to know before you buy or sell here.

The village

Why people choose Burford

Burford sits about 8 km west of Brantford along Highway 53, which becomes King Street through the middle of the village. First settled in 1793, it's one of the oldest communities in the County of Brant, and it still has the feel of a place where people know each other.

You get small-town streets, a local elementary school, and farmland in every direction, with Brantford's shopping and Highway 403 about ten minutes away.

Jon has lived here for 16 years. His wife's family were born and raised in Burford, and he's coached local teams and sponsored hockey, baseball and soccer. He knows the creek, the King Street businesses and the back roads because they're his, too.
